Amy L. Burns is an award-winning writer who spent more than 17 years in the multi-media industry, covering a diverse range of topics through the written word, social media, and the power of video. Born and raised in the Washington, D.C. suburbs, Burns attended and graduated from George Mason University in 1992 and joined the family newspaper business in Loudoun County, Virginia. Over her 17-year career as publisher, editor and Director of Marketing and Sales, Burns has covered congressional politics, national healthcare issues, immigration, gang legislation, and attended and covered numerous murder trials. She has interviewed celebrities from Donald Trump to Ty Pennington, numerous professional athletes and politicians.
Ms. Burns is proud to have been recognized by respected organizations and institutions for her commitment to good business, creative marking and quality journalism. In 2006, Burns was recognized as Loudoun County Business Developer of the Year by the Loudoun County Government. Burns earned a first place award from Suburban Newspapers of America for the writing and development of her company's marketing materials. In 2006 and 2007, the Chamber of Commerce honored the multi-media company Ms. Burns conceived and led, Copyboy Publications, as a finalist for Loudoun County Product of the Year. In 2010 she was awarded first and second place nationally for her in-depth coverage of the healthcare battle between hospitals HCA and Inova, and additionally for her coverage of pending anti-gang legislation in Congress.
Since the purchase and ultimate merger of her company, Burns dedicates her time to writing and marketing for public and private corporations and political associations.
